Here is a little guide for couples who are about to marry. It will help you remember all the relevant issues for a relaxed and trouble-free planning of your wedding.

One year in advance: choose the church, get in contact with the parish and choose the location for your celebration.

Six months in advance: confirm the church and start a marriage preparation course. Prepare the appropriate documents and remember some of them have a maximum validity of three months. Book the location for the celebration and start thinking about the dress.

Five months in advance: choose the rings and the dress. Draw a first list of attendees and of persons to whom you may want to simply send marriage announcement cards. Identify the witnesses and verify their availability.

Three months in advance: contact a florist for the floral decorations and the bouquet. Choose the musicians for the church service and the reception. Contact also a photographer and/or a video operator. Order announcement cards, invitations and thank-you cards. Write your wedding list and book the honeymoon holidays. Finally, choose the car, carriage or other vehicle for the bride.

Two months in advance: choose the pages and damsels, if any, and send the announcements. Contact a hair stylist and a make-up artist to study the hairstyle and make-up. Define the reception menu and order the candy boxes.

Three weeks in advance: make an on-site inspection to the church and the reception location, with your florist, photographer and musicians if possible. The groom gets the rings from the shop (or the witnesses, if they buy them as a gift to the couple).

Seven days in advance: make a final fitting of the dress and give the restaurant the exact number of attendees. Organise the engagement party.

And at last, the great day: get the bouquet delivered home and prepare yourself to live the most beautiful day of your life!
